ATLIB Regional Volleyball Competition
San Andres, October 20, 2007


The St. John’s College 6th form boys and girls won first place at the northern regionals of the Association of Tertiary Level Institutions of Belize (ATLIB) volleyball competition at the Corozal Community College last Saturday.

The SJC 6th form girls won 25-8, 26-24 over the Muffles Junior College girls in their 1st  game and the Corozal Junior College girls also won their 1st  game over the San Pedro Junior College girls 25-8, 25-2.
The SJC girls went on to win their 2nd match against the Corozal Junior College girls  26-11, 25-2, while the San Pedro High School girls  prevailed over the Muffles Junior College girls in 3 sets, 24-26, 25-20 and 25-18.
The SJC girls won thru undefeated with 6 pts after they spanked the San Pedro girls 25-17, 25-19 while the Corozal Junior College girls finished in 2nd place with 5 pts after they took down the Muffles girls 25-5 and 25-17.
 Onaje-guy Sandiford, Jamal Galvez and Cleon Coleman led the SJC 6th form boys to a 25-18, 25-16 win over the Corozal Junior College boys in their 1st game of the day
The Wesley College boys also won their 1st game over the Muffles Junior College boys in 3 sets. Ekroy Yorke and Milton Flores led Wesley college to a 25-21 win in 1st set, but led by ‘Kalusha’, the Muffles boys came back in your face to win the 2nd set 26-16. The Wesley boys toughed it out to win the 3rd set 15-13.
The Wesley College boys fought hard to win the 1st set of their 2nd game 25-22 over the SJC boys, but Francis Usher served up the attack and Cody Kuylen set the pill for spikes by Sylvan Thompson and Stefan Duncan to win the next 2 sets 25-10 and 15-11. The Muffles College boys won their 2nd  match over the Corozal Junior College boys 25-16 and 25-17.
The SJC boys won thru undefeated with 6 pts after they muffled the Muffles College boys 27-25 and 25-21 in their 3rd game, but at the end of the day the Muffles College boys ranked 2nd, good enuf to go onto next week’s nationals at the Sacred Heart college in San Ignacio.

The Corozal Junior College boys resurrected from the dead to burn the Wesley College boys in 3 sets 28-26, 24-26 and 20-18, much to delight of the home town fans.
