What is Computer Science?
Computer Science is the study of the mathematics and technology of computers and their applications. Computer Science is primarily concerned with information processes, the structure and procedures needed to represent them, and the systems needed to implement them. Spanning a broad spectrum of basic and applied subdisciplines which range from foundations in logic and the computational complexity of algorithms through compilers, operating systems, and databases, the discipline continues to expand in terms of new architectures, networks, vision, robotics, and computer-aided design.

At Wesley Junior College you will find an intimate, inclusive learning environment. Students within the Department of Computer Science enjoy small class sizes with maximum exposure to professors.
The objective of this programme is to train individuals in the field of information Technology and Computer Science. Students will be trained in programming, databases, and systems technology (hardware, software, networking etc). Person applying for this programme MUST have a passing grade in Information Technology at the Third and Fourth Form levels in high school. Preference will be given to candidates who have sat the CXC Examination in I.T. Candidates who have suitable work experience in Information Technology will also be considered.
Graduates will be able to:
• Work with variety of application software.
• Maintain and manipulate data in small and large databases.
• Install and Maintain programs.
• Write simple and original programs
• Solve problems using computer technology.
